The Alchemist in Yerpa can imbue your monster with elements that will give it an advantage over monsters that are of different elements. Water is stronger than fire, fire is stronger than grass, grass is stronger than rock, rock is stronger than bolt, and bolt is stronger than water.
Essences add powers from other monsters to your monster. They can be found while exploring the wilderness or purchased from the Essence Man in Yerpa. Essences can be slotted on your monster's head, hands, body, or feet. Note that some essences will decrease certain stats in order to boost others.
You can heal your monsters with fruit. They are also healed over time after returning to town. For a speedy recover, use the water from the well in the center of Yerpa. The well can only be visited once every few hours.
Send your monster into the wilderness to get stronger. The map will change every time you enter the wilderness. You will gain experience, money, essences, and items through battles after safely returning to town. However, if you monster loses all its hit points before returning to town, half the experience, money, experience, and essences earned will be lost, as well as all items.
Get a net and enter the wilderness. When you find a Wildling, clear out any other creatures in the area. Then, face the Wildling and alternate between the net and your monster’s attack. You must knock down a Wildling's health before you can catch it. Bring the net down on the Wildling when it is in range. The better your net, the less health you need to knock out before it can be caught. Talk to the Scholar in Yerpa after catching Wildlings. He will make an entry in a book that tells you more information about that Wildling. After catching a certain number of Wildlings, he will reward you with abilities for your monster.
