Create your own golfer and build up his or her experience and skill levels by competing in various tournaments and head-to-head matches. The more you play, the stronger and more accurate your golfer becomes. There are many different modes of play in Mario Golf, including a wide variety of minigames designed to challenge even the most level-headed swingers.

Cheat Codes/Hints

Change your shot

To change your shot from a draw to a fade OR a fade to a draw, first complete Windy Valley Hole 1. Then win the Dune Club Tournament, and return and complete Windy Valley Hole 2. After doing so, the man will offer to change your shot. Even if you reply 'no', you can return and change it anytime. Note - He can only change your shot once, so your change will be permanent.

Hoodlum in Tiny Tots course

One of the kids responsible for leaving golf balls scattered around the course is hiding in the northern area of the Tiny Tots course.

In-game reset

Press A + B + Select + Start. (Note: If reset occurs during game, you can continue from the saved game file.)

Left Handed Players

Press and hold Select as you choose your player and keep it held down until you reach the hole to play. When you get to the hole you should see that your player is left handed. This only works with Mario, Wario, Luigi or Club Champs.

Left-handed golfer

Hold Select and press A to choose a golfer.

Man in Palm Club course

A man is hiding on the far side of the Palm Club putting green. (Note: Find all three hidden characters for 300 points.)

Mushroom power-up locations

On the bookshelf in the room to the right of the Director’s room.
On the cabinet in the Club Maker’s hut.
To the left of the Peach Castle course entrance.

Peach’s Castle course

Defeat all four champions in a match game and finish in first place in all four courses.

Play as Wario

Finish first in the club tournaments and defeat all of the club masters.

Second Chances in Tournaments

If you are in a tournament or battling a club champ and you totally messed up on a hole, you don't have to get the ball in the hole and get a bogey or double bogey! All you have to do is hit Start, go to Save and Quit, then when it asks you if you want to save say yes. Go back to 1p Play and choose your character, you will be back at the beginning of the hole.
