The boomerang can be used to obtain out of reach Force Gems and other items.

To break the line of customers in area 2 of level 2, use the boots to run into the line. The people will briefly move away; hurry to the other side.

When you are battling the giant warriors, if you have a Roc's Feather jump over them and press B for an instant kill.

Obtain the Fire Rod and use it on a group of bushes. All of the bushes will reveal one Force Gem each. To get 300 Force Gems, obtain the shovel in the second area of level 2 and dig behind the house with the two pots on the top and many pots inside of it (southeast) to uncover a big Purple Force Gem that is worth 300.

After you talk to all the spies in the level and return to get the shovel, go back into the shadow world and switch the shovel for another Pegasus Boot or the empty item stand. Leave the shadow world then the area with another item other than Pegasus Boots and go back down into the Dark World. The passage to the shovel will be blocked and the kid won't open it again. Talk to him and he will give you Pegasus Boots and you'll drop the other item. Keep picking up the other item and talk to the kid again for an infinite supply of the Pegasus Boot.
