On the Mode Select Screen, highlight and choose Option by pressing and holding the A and B button. Hold these down until you see the Option Mode Screen appear. Now move down to Game Setting and press A or B, on the Game Setting Screen, choose Custiom and press A or B. On the Custom screen, you'll see a new option called Special Custom. From here, you'll be able to select a multitude of new options.

Press A + B to choose option mode. Select the "Game Setting" and "Custom" options. A new "Special Custom" option will appear. Set "Person=0" to have a CPU vs. CPU game. Set "Connected Mode=Off" to disable linking two game systems. Another option allows the dropping style of either CPU player to be modified.
