Cheat Codes/Hints

Batting

Do not attempt to hit the ball for six when its right into your foot (Yorker). Instead, play aggressive shot for sweep. It works quite often.

Try to build your confidence meter before attempting any big shots.

When the CPU assigns defensive field, try to defend the deliveries in the offside more often to clinch a single run. Remember try to clinch the single quickly or you will be run out.

You will find medium fast bowlers more difficult to handle than the faster ones. Do not hit slog shots. You will succeed one or two times then will definitely get out.

For Slogging, hit the ball just before it lands on the ground and you will find that it will reach the fence.

Bowling

A spin bowler is the best weapon in the game. When bowling to a right hander, a leg spin bowler bowling leg spin just short of a Yorker placed just outside leg stump, will eight times out of ten bowl the CPU. Also, placing the ball in the same location with an off spinner, bowling a wrong one will get the same results.

Pitch the bowl slightly outside the off stump, just towards the crease line. Then, start with in swinger and when it is ready to pitch, change it to out swinger. It will get you a lot of wickets in the slip regions and backward point region.

Other delivery to baffle the batsman by starting with Off Cutter and Bowl Leg Cutter at the last minute.

Set the field where you have fielder in closing catching position and bowl according to the field set. Remember the outside the off stump and out swinger is your delivery

Use the following trick to get easy wickets. Place all the fielders on the boundary from third man position to mid off in custom fielding editor. Only place a second slip and a fielder in the off drive position inside the circle. Then, bowl an in swing bouncer delivery far outside the off stump close to the line of wide. The batsman will play a slogging shot. You can catch those shots in the boundary line. Do not worry about the wide run. Most of the time the batsman will hit those shots in the air; try to catch it.

Catching

When catching the ball, watch the ring whenever it becomes orange. Wait for two seconds then press [Enter] when the green ring appears.

Leg-Spinner Target Area

Leg-spinners, like any spinners in this game are targeted by attacking batsmen and it is often difficult to stop the ball from getting to the boundary. A rememdy to this is to use the 'you miss, we hit' strategy and this is a great way to sacrifice a few runs whilst taking a few wickets. For spinners who get decent turn, pitch the ball well outside the off-stump to batsmen who bat with the opposite hand to which the bowler is using (eg. if your bowler is a left-arm leg-spinner, bowl outside the off-stump of right-handed batsmen) and get the ball to rip back in.

Find a line that will bring the ball back from outside the stumps, onto the middle-stump (ideally) of the batsman. Often the batsman will try to glance the ball to the boundary or hit it over the top of third-man, but often the batsman will play around it and lose one of his stumps, or get caught on the crease for an LBW. Your overs will be much more expensive, but in Test matches, this is a worthy sacrifice.

Re-Attempt

Unlike many sporting games, this one has not provided a remedy for one of the simplest cheats in the book. If you are losing a match and you consider it to be a 'must-win' situation. Save the game and then just re-load it every time you fail, whilst re-saving it every time you manage to make progress (eg. pick up a few runs)000000. There is no risk involved and in spite of it being inconvenient, you can use this method as often as you like!
