In Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World, there are three different endings depending on your actions.

Alternate ending sequences

Complete the indicated task to view the corresponding ending sequence.

Bad: Intentionally or accidentally defeat both Lloyd and Marta after the battle with Richter. You will be assured you have unlocked the "bad ending" if you see Marta fall onto the ground, appearing unconscious or dead. Emil then will stab himself and turn into Ratatosk's core. After the big scene is over, you will see a final journal entry stating that Marta is terribly sad of what happened. You will also never get the chance to face yourself. Another indication that you have obtained the "bad ending" is if you see The End in a red shade. You must kill Richter again and do it the correct way to end the game, and get the chance to use your grade and start a new game.
Good or Normal: Getting the "normal" or "good ending" depends on if you made enough good choices throughout the game. You will unlock the "good ending" if you made good choices, or the "normal ending" if you did not make enough good choices. To get the "good" or "normal ending", which are basically the same, you must lose to Lloyd and Marta after defeating Richter. Things that determine if you get the good ending are as follows. If you get the chance to fight yourself, you must win to get the official "good ending". You will see a scene where Marta realizes Emil was just pretending to be Ratatosk so they would defeat him and he would turn into a core, destined to protect the door forever. However, they do not defeat him and everyone leaves leaving Emil/Ratatosk and Richter alone in the room. Richter tells Emil/Ratatosk into two forms so Emil can live his life. Another way to you have unlocked the "good ending" is that you will see Fin shaded in blue. You will then get a chance to use your grade to help in a new game.

Ase Nova unison attack

When Emil and Marta both have the skill "Special" equipped, they will sometimes do a special unison attack called "Arse Nova". This happens randomly at times, however if certain conditions are met, it will always happen. The key is in the elemental grid at the bottom left corner of the screen. When the grid shows equal parts dark and light, press C when the unison attack gauge is over half full as either Emil or Marta to do Ase Nova. If the Field Element is Light, do one base Dark-element attack (for example, Demon Fang with the skill "Tenebre" equipped) then do the unison. If the Field Element is Dark, do a weak Light attack (for example, Savage Reaper with the skill "Lumin" equipped) then perform the unison. Arse Nova is relatively powerful, and usually gets anywhere from 15 to 30 hits in as a part of a combo.

Emil's Ain Soph Aur secret Arte

After the Unison Bar is full, press B to do a Mystic Arte using Emil after using an Arcane Arte. Note: Emil must be in Ratatosk mode. Then, press B again before his Mystic Arte finishes, which is after his face's picture appears, to execute the Ain Soph Aur secret Arte. This is a Light elemental attack.
