The captain you select and the optional powers chosen at the start of a match is very important to your chance of winning. For example, Seamon El Sailor's "The Queen’s Love" or Jolly Roundbeard's "Raspy Punchers" can help get many of points fast if used at the correct times. Optional powers such as "Redo" or "Princess Push" can help fix a badly played turn.

When lining up your ship for launching, allow both circle reticules which indicate your shot accuracy to swing back and forth as many times as needed. To stop a launch, slowly swipe back to the center of the reticules if re-adjusting your angle.
