99 neighborhoods

Note: This procedure involves changing a game file;create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Enter TheSims folder and copy the "TemplateUserData" file tothe Desktop. Rename the file to "UserData" followedby a number from "6" to "99" for the correspondingneighborhood.

Abduction

Buy a telescope, then select it and press "Gaze".Over time after gazing into it, you can be abducted by aliens.There is no specific time you will be abducted -- it happens randomly.After being abducted, you will be returned in approximately sixto ten hours. Your stats will be changed after the abduction,along with your astrological sign.

Buying multiple items

When you are buying chairs or other items that yourequire multiple numbers of, hold [Shift] to repeatedlyplace the item where desired without having to re-select it.

Cheat mode

Press [Ctrl] + [Shift] + C duringgame play to display a prompt in the upper left corner of thescreen. Enter one of the following codes to activate the correspondingcheat function. Note: Enter [Exclamation point] at theprompt to repeat the last cheat entered. Enter a [Semi-colon]between codes to enter multiple codes at the same time.

Curing the gerbil sickness

If your Sim gets sick from the gerbil, have him makea potion with the Chemical Lab. When it is finished, it will bea White Potion that will cure the sickness. Also, you can buythe painting of a gerbil, which will cure your Sims in a bit ifyou own it.

Different last name for family member

Enter the last name as a dash "-". For thefirst name, enter a dash "-", a space, and the fullname you want. For example "- Joe Berkley". The completename would be "- Joe Berkley -". You can now enter differentlast names for different Sims in the house.

Easy fire cleanup

If there is a fire in the house or anywhere else with ashes left behind, enter to Buy or Build mode. Enable the move_objects on code and you can delete the ashes.

Exceed family member limit

Use the following trick to add other members to your family, after you already have eight members. Enable the move_objects on code. If you have a family that consists of eight membersand you want to add another, delete six of your family members. Those members are not gone forever. If you want another kid, keep the parents active and try to get a baby. If you want another pet, keep one adult active and buy a pet. You will not be able to control what this new member does.

Faster work promotions

Study all the skills and get them as high as they willgo, then start to work in any desired field. No matter what fieldyou work in, you will receive one promotion per day. Your Sim'shappiness level and friends count affect it in the later stages.This works well when you are using the money cheats, however,it is possible to do this without cheating by painting picturesand selling them; and creating potions and drinking them (as thiswill increase all your happiness levels, except sleepiness andhunger, saving you time). Every once in awhile, use a day or twoto call a friend and talk to them all day. This will help youget family friends faster.

Fixing missing mailbox and trash can glitch

Note: This procedure involves overwriting a game file;create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Find the lotin a neighborhood that is missing the mailbox and outside trashcan (for example, Lot 1 of Neighborhood 2) and another lot thathas a mailbox and trash can in another neighborhood with the samelot number (for example, Lot 1 of Neighborhood 3). Open the "userdata"folder of the Neighborhood that contains the good lot (for example,"userdata3"). Open the "houses" folder andright click on the housefile of the good house (for exmaple, "house01.iff")and select "Copy". Then, go into the house folder ofthe bad lot (for example, "userdata2"), right click,and select "Paste". Answer "Yes" if askedif you want to copy over the old file. Start the game and themailbox and trashcan should be replaced. Note: This will copyover any House on the problem lot.

Free pizza

Order a pizza. When you see the pizza boy, enter buymode and enable the move_objects on code. Click on hispizza and move it onto a table. Then, click on the pizza boy anddelete him.

Full need meters

If your Sim is very depressed or has another low attribute,enable the move_objects_on code and pause game play. Clickon the Sim in buy/sell mode and click the bottom of the screento delete him/her. Once deleted go to the live mode and doubleclock the person's head icon to go to where that Sim is located.Everything should be close to full. Note: Wave the game immediatelybefore performing this cheat, or you will lose any career changesor points you have earned.

Full traits

Create a Sim with no traits (0 nice, 0 active, etc.)Make him/her a yellow potion, and have them drink it. Your Simwill have a personality inversion, with all traits now at 10.Note: If you make too many potions a police woman appears andfines you.

Garage

Get a job. Note that with every promotion, you willget a nicer car. To get promotions and create a garage, do thefollowing. Create at least a 6x12 room. This will fit two smallcars. SUVs and Hummers are larger. Create several Gnomes withthe desk that has the tools on it. Make sure that the car youwant comes to your house, but that nobody gets in the car. Enablethe move_objects on code and enter buy mode. Use the handto grab the car, and rotate it into your garage. Make sure thereis an object directly in front of the car(s) that is not a gnome.Click the disk icon to save the game. Replace the item blockingthe cars with the gnomes. Next, save the game by exiting to theneighborhood. -Get back to playing the house. Save by using thedisk icon again.

Genie never leaves

When the Genie appears to grant a wish, enable themove_objects on code and move him far from his lamp. Afterhe is done with your wish, he will stay in your house until youdelete him.

Genie without a lamp

Enable the move_objects on code. Go to buy modeand get the Genie Lamp. Clean the lamp to summon the genie. Afterthe Genie appears, go to buy mode and delete the lamp. The geniewill be floating, but without a lamp.

Genie's Lamp

Buy the Genie's Lamp under "+" in miscellaneousitems. When you clean it, the Genie will appear. He will giveyou one of two choices. Choose one. It seems that if the Geniehesitates once, he will do something bad. If he hesitates twice,he will do something good.

Have a baby

When both parents are not busy, have the father sitand watch television until he is very relaxed. Then, tell themother to give him a back rub. Keep doing this until the fatherenjoys the back rub. Note: You may get denied at first, but keeptrying. Once you have successfully given him a backrub, kiss him.He should fall in love; if not, keep doing this until he does.Then, have them take a Jacuzzi together. Have them sleep togetherthat night. If nothing happens, then have them sleep togetherthe next night also. Eventually they will have a baby. You canalso do this the other way around, with the father starting it.

Buy a Vibratomatic love bed and instruct your Sims to "PlayIn Bed". If they play in bed every day for several days ina row, they will eventually have an accidental child, and no "Wouldyou like to have a baby?" dialogue box will appear. Note:This only works for opposite-sex couples.

Hidden object

Enable the move_objects on code, then builda house with no furniture. Go to the buy or build mode and clickaround the house. You should find a "*comeandsee". Note:You can also put things in the house, then start, then put underbuild or buy mode and it will be under or beside spots, but mainlythe 500 Simolians TV.

The "*comeandsee" object is a "hidden" programmedobject, that has neighbors come to your house. It shows up oftenwhen you buy party balloons or the genie grants a wish about "desertwinds".

Homosexual Sims

Have your Sim romance a Sim of the same sex in themanner they would to someone of the opposite sex. They will fallin love, kiss, hug, dance, etc.

Keep pot

Enable the move_objects on code after gettinga Genie Lamp. If the Genie asks "Do you wish for money orlove", choose money. Click on the pot of gold when it appears.The game will prompt you to sell. Immediately when you see thepot flash and almost disappear enter buy mode and delete it. Youshould still get the money and keep the pot for decoration.

Keep Sim alive

When a Sim dies, you can keep them alive by using themove_objects on code to delete the Grim Reaper. Save andexit the game, then evict your family. You will have to refurnishyour house, but at least your Sim will still be alive.

When your Sim is dying, enter build or buy mode, enable the move_objects on code, and delete the Grim Reaper. Then, delete the dead Sim. When you return to live mode, click on that person's pictureand they will reappear with their last saved stats. Note: The "death" music will still play.

When your Sim has burned to death, the Grim Reaper will appear.Get the closest person to plead with him. They will play Rock,Paper, Scissors, Shoot. If you win, the dead person becomes azombie. Enable the move_objects on code, then go into thebuild or buy mode and click on the zombie. Delete him or her,then return to live mode and click on the picture of the Sim thatwas a zombie. Then, click in the house and they will be revived.Note: This will only work if person has burned to death.

Keeping need meters full

If you are having troubling making sure your Sims barsdo not drop too low, pause game play, then tell your Sims whatthey need to do. When you resume the game you will not have toworry about trying to get your Sims bars full.

Kill Sim quickly

Build a small house, put chess boards everywhere inside,but leave a space and one box. Place a fireworks shooter in thebox. Make a door and tell the Sim to go in the room. Delete thedoor and tell the Sim to light a firework. Light another and repeatuntil the Sim is dead.

Use the following trick to kill a Sim quickly in a fire. Make a 10x12 house. Count how many Sims you want to kill and add one to that number. Fill up the house with exercise machines and anamount of boxes open in a line equal to your number. Put a fireworks launcher in the end box of the line of boxes. Enable the move_objects on code and pick up the Sims you wanted to kill. Place them in different empty boxes in the house. Tell any one of the Sims to light the fireworks. If done correctly, once launched the entire house will catch on fire at the same time. Note: The game may freeze for a few seconds. Also, you may run out of money while you are doing this trick.

Put an unwanted Sim in a room. Get rid of the door and buy somefireworks. Light them off. They will go up, come down, light onfire, and kill the Sim.
